1. Brazil actually has a “Children’s Day” in addition to Mothers’ and Fathers’ Days. Is this really necessary?
2. Though interesting, reading the genetics and reproduction chapters in a Brazilian biology textbook is NOT the best way to improve my Portuguese speaking ability.
3. The ground water here is contaminated. With what?, you might ask, as did I. The answer: gordura humana. Huh, I thought, that’s funny. That sounds like “human fat.” Occasionally, only very occasionally, do I wish I understood less Portuguese.
